4th of July Cookie InspoI've come to enjoy doing cookie platters. They are usually much less time-consuming than regular themed sets. Here is the cookie platter I'm offering my customers for the 4th this year. The platter cutter (you only need one cutter if you have the center 3" circle), is versatile to use for any platter set.
Business Sense: marketing yourself1. Get a list of daycares in your area. Market PYO cookies or whatever you want to them. Ask if you can send them your price list. I have a sweet daycare lady who orders birthday cookies and gives her daycare kids a birthday party. The kids must love her!2. Do a collaboration with a local photographer for the baby’s 1st birthday. Make sure to hand out your business information. I had a photographer order a smash cake with each 1st birthday shoot. She would tag me on Facebook with the pictures and I would share it on my business page.
For instance, I have a ‘Ladies/Spa’ cookie party coming up. I have spa theme cookies for them to decorate. When they are ready to dry, we’ll break for refreshments and free facials with her presentation (the lady I am doing a collab with does this and sells facial products). It’ll be a great day for the ladies to enjoy, let their hair down, and have fun. Remember, when hosting cookie parties, you want to make sure your guests leave happy and saying ‘I can’t wait until the next one!’ So, make it as enjoyable as possible for them. Loosen up, have fun and make them feel like you are their best friend.
Quick Business Tips1. Here’s a tip…take tips! Do you have a website yet? If you do, add a PayPal donate button. I have not done this, but I have heard from other people with sites that they are amazed at how generous people are. Even if you get a few dollars here and there, it does help with expenses.2. Are you interested in having a website but know nothing about coding? No worries! The company I am with (and love) does the heavy lifting. Believe me, they give you way more than the very small cost you pay to have it. Here is a video tour about SiteSell. I’ve also enjoyed over 10 years with them on my other websites. (Of course, I disclose that I will make a commission if you do become a member).
I’m summing up, but a final thought… …as if I had nothing else to do (haha), I’m planning a family reunion this fall. Are you having one this year? My hubby, if you do not already know, is a poet, Pepper Blair. He wrote this acrostic poem for it. I thought I would share it with you. You are free to use it. If you would like a better image, just holler! Blessing to you! All my best, Nita Pepper Blair on Pinterest |
