Decorated Cookies for Fall Cookie InspoHow about these inspiration cookies to rattle your chain? Watch for the video on my YouTube channel! It'll be up this week!Business Sense: marketing yourself1. This first one may seem odd, but let me explain...You need to get the book by John Kremer, "1001 Ways to Market Your Books". I have had the 6th edition for many years. I got it for marketing my husband's books. Let me tell you, I have used it over and again for all of my businesses (I'm not just a cookier). This copy is old and has 700 pages! He republished a couple of more newer ones. Why am I sharing this? Well, when you start reading it, creative juices start flowing even though it's for books. OH, THE IDEAS that come for marketing your business! I use it all the time. Seriously. You can find it on Amazon--OR--search. I know thriftbooks.com has it for $4 or so. Hey, used books are good books (wink) 2. So you have practiced. You have a serious cookie business. However, you're not a fan of people always coming to your house. You want to work smarter, not harder, right? Here's a good one... ...have you thought about contacting places that carry high-end men's clothing? Are you serious, you ask? Well, yes. I know a couple of cookier people who have hooked up with the online stores to sell cookies. They get paid very well. 3. have you posted a poll for your customers on your Facebook business page? The holidays are right upon us. If you have a few ideas of cookies you want to make, go ahead and do sample sets with pictures. Poll your fans and see which ones they gravitate to the most. You might just have a sell-out!
Quick Business Tips1. I'm sure you have heard of a 'target audience'. To connect with a customer, you have to speak their language. So if you are putting ads, posts, posters, etc. out there, who are you talking to? 20-30 year olds? 40-50? Older? Do they have kids? Are they grandmas? Men? Women? You get the idea. The first question is to you, who do you want to sell to? Make a fake person up. Answer all these questions and any more you can think of.When you laser in on your perfect audience, they WILL respond. 2. Creating content for your customers/fans must be unique, shareable, and strike an emotion. No doubt you have heard of this, and may already be ahead of me... Do you have a unique idea for a cookie cutter that simply is not out there? Most anyone on Etsy will custom make you a cutter. Many will say it can't be made only for you because they want to sell it to others. Which is fine with me. Mike's Cookie Cutters on Etsy is amazing and super fast! What's nice is he charges only his typical prices. Nice, huh? 3. We can't have too many resources to help with our cookie businesses, can we? I'm including this link to a Facebook page you can join. It's not mine, but I saw it on another FB group, and that it is a new group. It's called Cookie Cutter Identification (CCID) it'll be great when you have a cutter someone gives you and you have no idea what it is!
